Only 20 minutes and I can take the henna off my head!

Today I managed to track down the building manager and complain about the douchebag next door.  The building manager is this cute little old man with white hair and a pressing need for a hearing aid.  He wrote down all the details, and said he'd sort it out.  So tonight said douchbag came home at 7.30pm and did his washing as soon as he got in.  I can only hope he doesn't do it  tomorrow morning just to spite me.

Had an adventure on my bicycle this morning.  Went to the Landmark Tower in Minato Mirai and tried to track down something nice for my friend's wedding next month.  Found a cool purple dress that needed about three more inches in the bust, so regretfully I had to pass it up.  However, I did find a sexy elephant t-shirt.  Checked out the new bookshop in the Landmark Plaza shopping centre.  Good selection of books, just a shame whoever was in charge of the foreign books seemed to have little grasp of genre or the alphabet.  I got frustrated and had to leave.  Located Hobnob and Digestive biscuits in the import shop, found baked beans in Tesco then came home and watched Part 1 of the BBC's Victorian's documentary.  Most interesting it were.

Coloured my hair whilst listening to Bruce Dickinson's Classic Rock show on Radio 6.

Finished off the sexiest cake in the whole world after dinner whilst watching "An Education".  Here's the Sexy Cake:

It was so sexy I couldn't eat all of it yesterday, so saved half for today.  As in, half of this slice, not half the cake.

6 minutes...

Loud Noisy

My neighbour got home at the same time as me today. He's a noisy fucker. Right now he's on the phone, and I believe the person who knocked at my door a moment ago is in there now, adding to the odd creaking - no, he's still banging at the door... WTF?

I could hear him snoring last night as well. However, I believe I contributed equally after a bout of insomnia led me to fall back to sleep at 5.30am. Until 8am I had a series of very lucid dreams, one of which involved my catfish asking to suck my blood. Old friends were also in there leaving the taps on in my apartment. My contribution was the numerous times I came to near consciousness by talking or shouting loudly.

Last night, to try and get over the Miseries, I went to Yongo Yongo. And indeed, there is nothing better than listening to Black Sabbath and discussing Velvet Revolver, Led Zepplin, Helloween and various others with Mama to alleviate the blues. All over a bottle of nice Spanish wine. Oishikatta to omishiroi desu.

This weekend I've been quizzed twice about whether or not I want a boyfriend. It seems, at 27, I need to be settling down and thinking about pushing one out. We were talking about the qualities I desire in a man - this was quite tricky, but I guess it would be: intelligent, good at talking (and listening), funny, creative, passionate and honest. So, the likelihood of finding one of those in a country where 70% of men cheat on their wives is highly unlikely. The more I think about men though, the less I like them.

Spell check doesn't like the word "fucker".

I'm going to play music loudly and try to do something creative.

I have a new neighbour. He moved in on Thursday morning and made much noise doing it. He has continued to make much noise. He puts the TV on whenever he comes home, even if it's for a mere 20 minutes. He sneezes and coughs in a fashion which makes me think of phlegmy old men.

And my downstairs neighbour snores when he's pissed. I only know this because I had a fit of insomnia on Thursday night. He had come home the same time as me (midnight - I know this because I know the sound of his car) and gone out again. I was awake from 3am to 6am and heard him come back at 4am. A mere 10 minutes later I could hear snoring. I know he was pissed because I could hear him stumbling about, which is not normal, for he is, at least, wonderfully quiet.

I am very conscious of how noisy I am, for the walls of these apartments are worryingly thin and I don't want peple knocking on the door telling me to be quiet. If he persists I may have to do one of two things - work out the Japanese to ask him politely to "shut the fuck up", or invest in some Bose headphones (which I've wanted for a very long time - they are ridiculously expensive) in order to get some peace.

Anyway, today is a rare thing - a day off. Usually public holidays are on Mondays - conveniently placed on the day I normally have my weekend. However, I am enjoying not having to get up. Today I will go to Bellshine and pick up goat cheese and micro-brewery beer, check out the hats and scarves, and maybe invest in a cushion for my chair at work. Then I shall go to Tsutaya and pick up some DVDs, or not. Then, go to West Village, where I will also investigate hats and scarves, and perhaps the bakery. Then on to Apita to get vegetables |(and check out hats and scarves), then Avenue to check out hats and scarves if the other placed have not already been successful. I also need to figure out what to get my mum for her birthday - and sharpish, as it needs to go in the post this week.

Then I shall return to my little apartment and snuggle up in bed again to do various things (like book ryokan) until Yasuko picks me up at 9pm and we go out somewhere.
