Adventures in the Looking Glass

Did I ever mention the jinx on my fish tank? In the past year my various fish, the ones that didn't die from it, have had fin rot and leeches, plus death from old age. Today the worst thing happened. We set up my fish tank at the weekend and put my two goldfish in. Last night we added my ghost catfish - he's about eight inches long and has big whiskers. When I looked in the tank before work this morning one goldfish was hiding behind the filter and his tail was missing. That was evil Fred who used to eat the other fishes tails. George, his friend, was also missing chunks of tail. It appears that the catfish - Slinky - tried to eat my fish but as they were just a little too big he mangled them instead. Fred died this afternoon and we buried him in the garden. George is still alive and though a bit sore is swimming okay. Slinky has been put back into solitary confinement and there he shall remain until I decide what to do with him. He's looking at me now from under his rock. YOU MURDERER!!!

On the up-side I'm going to Bournemouth for the weekend in two weeks! Lots of paddling in the sea and eating of candy-floss!
