It was pretty uncomfortable, especially with the whole head-patting, shoulder-grabbing thing. However, I think I would have been more uncomfortable if I hadn't been observing everything in great detail, and then came away later feeling terrible.
Ultimately, it made for a good story, and was a fruitful use of a bit of "mindfulness".
