Jan. 2nd, 2010 09:38 amIn a bid to try and make myself a bit more proactive this year (there's a tonne of stuff I want to do), I started it off yesterday by summing up the courage to ask someone out for a drink. Someone very cute I met a little while ago who happened to be at this party on NYE. Someone I'm pretty certain will say yes. I spent all day yesterday mulling it over, gave myself until midnight to make a decision about what to do and finally decided that the worst that could happen would be a "no", which is no great loss. God, I hate 'dating'.
I'm trying to remember all the books and films I watched last year but my memory is pretty rubbish. I'm sure I started writing them down. Usually I make lists in class when the students are doing some reading or writing, or are waxing lyrical on the Bible. Maybe I should start by putting down some here:
Film - January 1st - Brothers
Book - Norwegian Wood - Haruki Murakami
Also, I've been doing some camera research and was rather disappointed to find that the Canon G10 which was in Yodobashi Camera two weeks ago as disappeared from sale. Only the G11 can be found. I guess there's no great difference between the two, but when comparing them against each other the G10 is now slightly cheaper and has all the specs I require from a camera which is not SLR. I did find a refurbished G10 on ebay from what looked like a Canon outlet. Went to Kichijoji with my friend Chelsey the other day and she took me to a camera shop which is full of second-hand cameras and lenses so I'm hoping to go back and take my SLR along to play with some of them. Their G11 was also significantly cheaper than the others I've seen.
Chelsey suggested I start selling my eggs in order to pay for these little emergencies, and the idea doesn't sound too bad. I should just be glad I live in a country that doesn't even want my blood, let alone my body parts. I would totally be selling my plasma, eggs etc if i lived somewhere that would take them. Which is quite sad, as I'm really not THAT desperate.
