My internet connection suddenly stopped working on Monday. I checked the wires, the modem - all fine. Our new sub-teacher brought his laptop over and it works fine on his. I can only assume that the ethernet port is faulty as it doesn't register the presence of a cable when a cable is plugged in.
I was musing to myself a few days before this happened that I was spending too much time on the internet and should do other, more productive things. I had not intended this. Quite worrying how much I rely on the internet for my day to day life.
So I figure I have two choices. Go to the Mac store in Ginza - 5 hours and ¥6000 away, plus however much repairs cost. Or, I buy an Airpost Base Station and use my wireless to connect until the next time I'm in Tokyo. A base station costs ¥11800, which is cheaper than the bus, hostel, repair costs etc, but I've not read good things about the longevity of it.
Any advice?
Plus, my knee hurts. Five months after I twisted it snowboarding it hurts. I'm assuming this is a reaction to the cycling I've been doing lately.
It's my birthday on Sunday. Clearly the stars are misaligned.
