I have not appeased the allotment god...
Jun. 3rd, 2006 10:16 pmAs if things on the allotment couldn't get any worse (see my post from earlier in the week) I popped down yesterday to see if anything needed a drink (and after all that water hanging around I was assuming not). When I got there I found the greenhouse slumped over, and most of our babies all over the ground. Some had come out of their pots, others were hanging on, and others had been eaten by slugs. After such a disappointing start to the year (in every way) this made me burst out crying. Unfortunately, I was visited by another allotmenteer and had to quickly wipe away the mascara running down my face. Don't think I managed to convivnce him I wasn't upset. He says he's going to give me a "Dig for Victory" poster to help keep the spirit up. Gid came over and tried to sort out the ground (we think it subsided after the flooding) whilst I tried to revive some flagging plants. I then sped home, went to the pub ad drank lots of wine to cheer myself up.
Today I've spent mooching about, going for walks, and avoiding the midday sun. I'm also pleased to report that I have just won Strictly Dance Fever, and looked like I had a great set of pins one me too. More allotmenteering tomorrow and then horror film, perhaps.
Oh, yes. More stuff up on eBay. Look up Blacklilly101 to see a selection of DVDs and books. I'll get round to CDs tomorrow, I hope.
