Tickets for the TOOL gigs in Hammersmith are sold out. If I was a little more hip (or dumb) and thought that reading Metal Hammer or Kerrang! was going to keep me in the loop, I'm sure I would have got round to it sooner, but hey ho. I've seen them once before. Am going to attempt to get day tickets to Reading so I can see Pearl Jam. Lets hope there are still some available.
Teaching until 9pm tonight. Am feeling a little frazzled, especially doing two private lessons in a row. They're quite intense as you don't get much opportunity to rest your voice, or even just zone out for a bit. Yesterday I had a complete beginner in my conversation class. He came out with random words, could say his name, but not much else. He was, at least, writing down everything, and by the end of the lesson seemed to have a pretty good grasp of what people were telling him. They even helped him out by pointing to words in his notebook. Fortunately, someone in the class speaks Arabic so was able to translate for him, though the two Thai girls thought this was an excuse for them to start yabbering away, so they got glares from me until the stopped. Doing a lower level is quite nice. They take ages to do anything, so work-wise a conversation class is quite relaxed. The only thing I keep forgetting to do is to stop talking to them in conditionals - hypothetical sentences etc. They look at me with blank expressions until I've explained it to them again. Sometime they look at me blankly, even though they know what they're meant to do.
Will have to run off soon.
