Not Sleepy
Feb. 7th, 2005 01:43 pmA rather bad case of insomnia hit last Tuesday night and I didn't sleep at all. Stupidly I decided I'd go to work and then bawled my eyes out at my desk. So I got sent home. And didn't sleep much then either.
Thursday I took off to go to the doctor, who says I'm not depressed, most likely stressed, and that maybe I should get some more exercise. My growing thighs would agree with her on this but really, exercising in Perivale? So I've decided to stop drinking (which is probably the wrong thing to do) and to cut down even further on the caffeine. We all know what the real problem here is though, and solving it is going to involve dusting down my CV. Not sure I want the hassle of having to find another job but it may be necessary.
Insomnia has had a very good effect on my writing. On Friday afternoon I wrote for two and a half hours, which is pretty good going judging by my recent fifteen minute efforts. I even managed another hour on Saturday, but I wasn't quite as focused as the day before. I hope it is a sign on things continuing in a more productive direction.
Hydrous gig tonight in Archway... at the Archway. I'll be there getting as much alcohol down my neck while I can (within reason) whilst still maintaining some dignity.
