Streeeeeetch!
Apr. 2nd, 2003 11:55 pmHmmm, what have I been doing recently?
My memory has gone to pot lately. I make mental notes to do things and completely forget. The days go by and nothing ever seems to be done. The half-opened letters/bills etc all over my desk are just indicative of how little I've been getting done lately. I will no doubt forget to do something "important" soon and then I will be in trouble.
Spent a good weekend mooching about Berkshire. Went to Reading and then Crowthorne, which is quite a nice place if a little incongruous in places. Polly drove me about the town and we passed super-posh Wellington College. Two miles down the road we were outside Broadmoor Hospital peering at it over a series of sheep-filled fields discussing the inmates. Bought many CDs in Reading - Lemon Jelly and a couple of soundtracks - The Hours and Oh Brother, Where Art Thou. The next day I rushed out of the shop into HMV to get the Devin Townsend Band album, which in true Devin style ROCKS.
Have started going to yoga classes at the gym and found myself to be surprisingly limber after over a year of not attending any yoga. I got myself into a 'plough' on first attempt and today nearly got into a shoulder stand. My stomach muscles ache, as do my thighs, which is a good sign. To boot, lost 4lbs in weight last week, and one more this week - that's nearly half a stone!!
Have an interview at a publishing company on friday - Editorial Assistant job. Am a little dubious about who - or what - works at an "educational" publishing house, but then I can hardly expect to leap straight into somewhere comparitively exciting (i.e. Penguin). I wonder if they'll be as prententious as the people at Bloomsbury - yah, yah darrrling. If I get the job I'll be earning enough money to start fending for myself! Yay! Quite enjoy the bookshop though - even if the customers do suck.
